From Spark to Established Installation Group – Sparc Group Celebrates 4 Years
Written on 1 July 2025 by Oscar Wilhelmsson

When Sparc Group was founded on July 1, 2021, the ambition was to build something long-term — a company where employees and entrepreneurs could feel part of something greater. Four years later, the vision remains the same, but the company has grown beyond what anyone dared to hope for. When we ask founder and CEO Erik Björklund about his strongest memory from the journey, it is above all the encounters between people that he highlights.
– There are many strong memories. Of course, how it all started and what we set out to achieve in the early days. All the meetings with new people, our annual gatherings. It’s clear that it’s in the meeting between people that sparks are ignited. It’s difficult to choose a single moment, it’s more the sum of all parts that creates the whole, says Erik Björklund, CEO & Founder Sparc Group.
Leading a growth company during a time marked by global uncertainty and industry challenges has required both intuition and confidence in the model Sparc Group is built on.
– We’ve grown larger than I dared to hope for in the time we’ve been operating. Looking back, we could have had even more confidence in what we were building — and the model is something we can and should be proud of. One important lesson I’ve learned is the value of looking beyond the surface, and realizing that what we create together truly works, Erik continues.
Acquisitions 82, 83 & 93, memories for Life
Since its inception, Sparc Group has successfully acquired 93 companies within electrical, HVAC, infrastructure, and security. Founder Erik Björklund and CFO Tomas Aksoy have been present at every single transaction, closely followed by Sparc Group’s transaction lawyer, Sean O’Connor, who has only missed one. When asked if there’s an acquisition that stands out for him, Sean points straight to number 93.
– The first thing that comes to mind is acquisition number 93, mostly because it was the only closing I couldn’t attend, as I was on parental leave,” he says with a laugh.
Another moment that became deeply personal for Sean was the closing of Götalands El & Telecom AB and GMT Sweden AB, where one of the sellers, Andrej, is living with ALS. Despite his illness, Andrej and his wife traveled all the way from the Czech Republic to Gothenburg to be present for the occasion.
– It was a long and challenging journey for them, and I found it incredibly moving and powerful that they chose to be there. It really showed the significance our meetings hold, beyond the transaction itself, Sean continues.

The New Normal
Jonas Kristiansson, co-founder and former owner of the very first company to join Sparc Group, remains an active part of the installation group’s journey. For him, success is as much about values as it is about growth.
– We’ve proven that strength doesn’t come from standing alone. We’ve grown together with incredible colleagues, and we don’t follow anyone else, we keep believing in our own path. It’s been fantastic to be part of building something greater, where we take smart steps forward each day and act based on today’s reality, says Jonas.
Several moments stand out for Jonas. Among them, a trip to New York in connection with the listing of Sparc Group’s bond on Nasdaq, where the company was showcased on Times Square. Another was the acquisition of Kung Carl, which for him marked the moment Sparc Group stopped being the exception, and became the new normal.
Moving Forward Together
Four years have passed since the beginning. What started as a spark has become a frontrunner in the installation industry.
– I was recently reminded that back in 2021, I was full of energy and confident about what we could achieve together. Four years later, I’ve seen it proven and surpassed. But what I’m most proud of is that we dared to believe in the vision we set from the start — to help our companies grow stronger together with us, to create momentum, and to dare to look ahead. We haven’t changed that model, and I’m grateful we’ve been entrusted to keep building Sparc Group together, concludes Erik.
